Other Pollution Measurements
These are assessments of typically non-ambient or indoor air, and sometimes ambient air, either by request or for expected pollutants. Methods are adapted to the needs of the situation and have changed over time. Locations have included: Head Start, Education Center, Yuhubi Nobi, Administration building, Arrowhead apartments, KBPT/Wellness Center, Toiyabe Dialysis Clinic, Toiyabe Health Clinic, Wanaaha Casino, and various residences on the Reservation. Summaries of the sampling events are entered to the Tribal newsletter for informing the community. The Air Program currently uses the following methods and instruments for investigative sampling:
GrayWolf PC-3016 particle counter for PM1, PM2.5, PM10
GrayWolf Advanced Sense XM Indoor Air probe kit for CO, CO2, TVOCs, formaldehyde, and water vapor
Durridge Rad 7 continuous radon detector
Aeth Labs MA200 microaethalometer for carbon-based light absorbing particles i.e. soot, with optional PM2.5 separator
